Documents to Prepare Before You Apply
Have these ready before the portal opens — some take weeks to get.
→ → → → → →
Income Certificate
Current year, from Aaple Sarkar
Caste Certificate
From Tehsildar office
Caste Validity Certificate
From District Scrutiny Committee — takes 1–3 months
Domicile Certificate
Proves Maharashtra residency
Bank account in student name
Aadhaar must be linked to it
Aadhaar card
Name must match all documents exactly
Key Tips
- 1. Start applying for the income certificate in May–June — before the portal even opens. It takes 7–15 days and is required for almost every scheme.
- 2. Caste Validity Certificate takes 30–90 days from the District Scrutiny Committee. Do not wait for the scholarship portal to open before applying for it.
- 3. Your bank account must have Aadhaar seeding (NPCI linking) done. Without this, DBT payments will fail — even if your application is approved.
- 4. Your college must verify your application on MahaEschol before the institute deadline. Chase your scholarship coordinator — this step is out of your hands but critical.
- 5. If rejected, you can usually reapply once. Read the rejection reason carefully — most rejections are fixable. See our rejection guide.
