Why Address Matters on Aadhaar
For Maharashtra certificate applications, your Aadhaar address must match what you enter in the application form. A mismatch in village name, district, or PIN code can cause rejections on:

You need one valid address proof showing your current address:

Method 1 — Online via myAadhaar Portal (Recommended)
Requirement: Mobile number must be linked to Aadhaar for OTP.
- Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
- Click “Update Aadhaar Online”
- Enter your Aadhaar number → enter OTP sent to your registered mobile
- Select “Update Demographics” → choose “Address”
- Fill in your new address carefully — use the same spelling as in your address proof document
- Upload a clear scanned copy or photo of your address proof document (PDF or JPG, under 2MB)
- Pay ₹50 online
- Submit — note down the URN (Update Request Number)

Method 2 — Offline at Aadhaar Seva Kendra
Use this if your mobile is not linked, or if the online update is rejected.
- Find centre at uidai.gov.in → Locate Enrolment Centre
- Carry original Aadhaar + original address proof + one photocopy
- Fill the Aadhaar Correction Form → select Address for update
- Submit form + documents + biometric verification
- Pay ₹50
- Collect Acknowledgement Slip with URN

- Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
- Click “Check Aadhaar Update Status”
- Enter your URN
Tips for Filling the Address Correctly
- Write village/town name exactly as shown in your address proof
- Use PIN code from India Post: indiapost.gov.in
- For rural areas: include taluka and district names correctly
- The address you enter will appear word-for-word on your new Aadhaar — double-check before submitting
After Update is Complete
Download your updated e-Aadhaar from myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and use it for all applications. Address can be updated multiple times — there is no lifetime limit unlike name or date of birth.
