EWS Certificate — Who Can Apply?

You must meet all of the following criteria to qualify for an EWS Certificate in Maharashtra.

Eligibility Criteria (103rd Constitutional Amendment, 2019)

  • ✅ General / Open / Unreserved category — You must NOT belong to SC, ST, OBC, NT, VJNT, or SBC.
  • ✅ Family gross annual income below ₹8,00,000 — from all sources (salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc.)
  • ✅ No agricultural land of 5 acres or more in the family's name.
  • ✅ No residential flat of 1,000 sq.ft. or more in the family's name.
  • ✅ No residential plot of 100 sq.yards or more in notified municipalities, or 200 sq.yards or more elsewhere.

ℹ️ "Family" includes self, spouse, minor children, and parents (unless separately assessed). Income from all sources for the current financial year is considered.
